  • Show Perfection peas

Has anyone tried this type of pea as recently talked about in Grow Your Own? It wil work out quite expensive if I buy from William Robinson & Son so I am wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I am looking for a pea that grows quite tall as I want to grow them up a wigwam rather than in rows. The sweeter the better as the kids will only eat peas straight from the pod! My previous attempts have been pathetic.

As the name implies Show perfection is a pea for people interested in showing that is why they are more expensive than other types, there are other types that grow tall and would be suitable for growing up wigwams will have a look and come back.

I grew Alderman peas last year and they reached 6 ft easy - fairly widely available. I also found that they cropped longer than standard varieties - in a similar vein to climbing beans - keep picking and they'll keep cropping

Thanks everyone. I have looked at the Kings catalogue and they do both Show Perfection (at a reasonable price) and Alderman. I'm going to have a go at the Show Perfection. They have also got some mange tout and suger snap peas that grow quite high. Oh, in for a penny, in for a pound (or several!).
