Still have a few parsnips, cabbages, late sprouts (they were planted very late!), small leeks and kale to harvest and am hoping that the PSB will finally be ready this weekend. At home I still have far too many potatoes stored (started to sprout a bit now though ), some garlic and a few onions. Also have loads of salted runner beans to eat, some jars of pasata and bottled raspberries. In the freezer I have some courgettes, more raspberries, blackberries, a bag of broad beans I found hiden at the back the other day, tomatillos and cherry tomatoes. Think everything else apart from a few dried beans is now used up. Wasn't very organised with salad stuffs although do have a bit of rocket I keep cutting to go in sandwiches.

Oh yes and also have loads of jams and chutneys left too plus some dried chillies and foraged mushrooms.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've got loads of jams and chutnies left, fruit in the freezer, and about a dozen shallots. Plus my dried chillies hanging from the kitchen curtain track. But as for fresh stuff, all I've got is herbs - parsley and rosemary. Mint is just starting to shoot. Should have a few leeks on the allotment if I can ever get over there to find out.

oh, I forgot the pumpkins. I have 8 on the windowsill. I'm kind of hoping they rot, because we're sick of them. Even the parrot is starting to turn her nose (beak) up

I've just pulled up the last of my leeks, a big vat of potato and leek soup on the go at the moment, yum, yum. Just started to sow salad leaves. Loads of onions left in the playhouse. Nothing else though.

Thanks for the link TS I am growing lots of beans this year but was at a loss for good recipes. Really want to cut down our meat consumption. Wait for the wails from my lads about that one

I hate this idea of a hungry gap and I'm determined to have a lot more stuff in pots in the greenhouse after the toms and cukes are finished. I know we all have stuff in the freezer and jam and chutney but as for fresh, well....chives by the bucketful, spring onions, chard, leaf beet and a few lettuce leaves.

2 black kale still in the garden, quite a few onions and garlic, no more potatoes. Some beetroot and toms in the freezer, and some red peppers - oh, and loads of plums still rom last year (but the family won't eat fruit!)

Winter lettuce turned up its toes this year, so still waiting for the new sowings to come through

Did succumb to local grown hothouse toms this weekend, and a local lettuce - I was craving salad!

The only things i have left are Garlic, dried chillies, jams, chutnies and frozen soups - oh, and berry vodka & damson gin! I did plant an early & late PSB but both produced way before Xmas & were dead before xmas arrived - perhaps i just sowerd them too early, although i did go according to the packet instructions. Didn't sow enough leeks either as they are long gone, and were quite small.

May I suggest that people think out side the box. Janeyo is on about giving the chooks the kale as it has started to bolt, PSB is nothing more than a brassica bolting and a lot of people rave over PSB. Kale shoots can be use exactly the same and are very tender so be careful not to overcook them.

You could take TS's advice and make elderberry wine, but so much easier is elderberry vodka.
I've never used them straight from the freezer, but they should work fine.
Stick em in a big jar, or whatever you have, put a bit of sugar in as well, fill up with vodka.
Shake now and again and admire the beautiful colour. At Christmas, try some and tell Womble he is the cleverest Womble around
