Crystal lemon cuke

Have just read the pkt and seen it says 'sown in heat in March'.

We tried to grow these last year but got a poor crop cos of 'bird damage', liked the flavour lots though. Soooo...

When do I sow them and how is best to grow them? Inside/outside/container? Thanks.

I've grown these before years ago and thought I would renew my aquaintance with them this year. I remember growing them outside and they grew very well.
My plants are now an inch high and will soon be transported to the greenhouse and probably planted out in May!

Oh Snadge you're quick off the mark, when did you sow them? Are you leaving them out in an unheated g/h?

I'm sowing mine later this month. I'll sow them in the house then put them outside in the day till I'm satisfied winter's all gone!

I grew them for the first time last year, sowed them in mid april and grew them in the tunnel. They were right tasty and very prolific.

Now, if these are the round ones, (cant remember the actual name but I know they were lemon cuc's) I grew these last year, sowed them early April in the greenhouse and then moved them outdoors once they were a reasonable size.
As PW says, very prolific, and tasted good too.
If they arent the round ones then please ignore everything I've just said.

Please grow one inside and one outside! I don't want to be responsible for your ONLY lemon cuke being planted outdoors and dying of hypothermia!

Have a few cucumbers through including an African Horned cucumber. However this thread has just reminded me that I have a packet of Lemon Crystal, will be putting seed in this week.

Me too Goji. I saw a sneaky pack of Crystal Lemon in my seed box the other day so on my next sowing session, will pop a few in.
