Is it still too cold?

Having potted on over 30 tomato plants today, I am now struggling to find enough kitten proof space with lots of light to put them in.
Is it too cold still to move them into the unheated greenhouse?

I've got some in my GH cos I needed the space elsewhere and they seem to be doing ok, but I'm a bit further south than you . Perhaps you could cover them with fleece or polythene if you think there's going to be a frost.

I know what you mean, I have a similar problem, but with Chillies. My MAX/MIN thermometer in the greenhouse is still getting down to just a couple of degrees over night, so I know is definitely too cold yet for me. Do you know what the night temperature in your GH is getting down to? I would assume it would be similar or less as you are further North than me.

It's staying above freezing and has done for 2 weeks, but I forgot to reset the thermometer for that length of time so really don't know what it currently is. The forecasts have been at around 4 or 5 at night I think, sometimes a little higher. For the next few days it is reckoned we'll get around 5 or 6 at night.
How warm do night time temperatures need to be?

My gh is set to 15 min. I have toms, chillis cues, and courgettes in there. They are not coming to any harm but are standing still.

Ideally tomato plants dont like to have the temp below 10 degs.
I have loads of plants and am in the same situation as you but would'nt dream of leaving them in my unheated greenhouse yet.

Sadly I have no heat in there so can't control the temperature.

I have left a few toms in greenhouse tonight just to see, I have soooo many I can afford to loose a couple. They have 2 chances !

I have some toms and peppers in my mini gh for the same reason, out of space indoors. They have been in there two nights now but am checking on them daily. I have fleece covers underneath the placcie ones and have then covered the plants with extra fleece inside the gh. Fingers crossed!

As said before, tomatoes need a constant temp of 10C or over (day and night).

I've had my seedlings on the windowsill, and forgot to bring them into the room at night for a while: they aren't looking good.

the ones that I've managed to keep at room temp (16c) are taller, stronger and better.

Mine have been out in plastic GH for last 2 weeks, no heating, just fleece dropped over them at night if it looks like frost and we have had some frosty nights. No thermometer so can't tell what temps but mine seem to be thriving.

Same here, mine all 30+ plants have been in polytunnel for a week now and they are doing well, much tter for having sunall around them.

However, I'm in Bristol and not really exposed to harsh winds.
