Has anyone grown this one? It was the only one in my local shop that didn't weigh about a ton when mature!

God knows I've tried! I've had zero germination - a couple of years on the run with the same packet of seeds. Marshalls sold me a dud I think. All my others came up ok.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I'm growing them too for the first time this year. They're supposed to be really good all-rounders, plus they look pretty neat. The Impulsive Gardener

I'm trying this one for the first time this year. Completely failed with butternuts last year so looked for something different. Will let you know how it goes - only just sowed into pots this week.come visit a garden

We grew Sweet Dumpling last year, with great success! Well worth growing them as being small they are an excellent lunch roasted whole. I scoop the seeds out and then I put butter and chopped garlic in and roast for a while, then add creme fluid (as we can't get double cream here) and grated cheese, back in the oven for a while and excellent!
We found them extremely easy to grow, luckily weren't inundated with them as only had about 4 plants. We started them off inside the polytunnel and then planted them out in the garden.
So well worth trying them.
