    Deep breaths now.....

I ordered some Rocket. I can't stand the stuff, but this one from Real Seeds says 'special variety bred for mild flavour'....so I'm going in and trying it.

Being sown tomorrow. Bleugh [but willing to give it a go].

Help me feel better about it; what are you growing that you don't actually like? And why?

Zazen, why do you sow it if you don't like it?
Because of limited space I can only grow what I like(and not enough).I'd love to have some brassicas but can't be bothered with caterpillars and brussel sprouts I grew for C****s dinner-when the time came, they were hidden under 2'of snow with nice ice layer at the top.2 years ago I was given 3 broccoli plants by a friend(gardener).I never grew them before-I didn't know when to harvest them so I ended up with huuuuge yellow flowering broccoli. It's a shame because they grow brilliantly here.
I love spinach-last year I had my first go at growing it-it all bolted.

What you'd like to grow and you're not able to?

Avacados. What I'd give for a decent avacado.

I'd love to grow asparagus and anything too big for containers for me (broc, cauli, celeriac, cabbage) and spring greens and celery for the rabbits.

(Though they wont be too badly off with a variety of herbs and carrot tops! - that is, if everything grows...)!

Not sure I actually like Swiss Chard (Bright Lights) of Cavalo di Nero(?) Kale. But I might.

And even if I don't they look pretty!

I have just bought a packet of gherkin seeds although last year I bought one plant, got quite a few gherkins but when I pickled them they were absolutely vile. Going to have another go this year.

Maybe it's the case of variety-that's why I try to have 2 of each every year.Last year I think I sowed some seeds too early-some of carrots, beets, celeriacs and all spinach bolted

Onions, leeks, disaster, every year, apart from the first few years when I didn't know what I was doing, then everything came great etc.

You changed the question! Err, nothing of course, I like everything I grow. Otherwise, why grow it?

I love sweet potatoes and have difficulty finding the orange variety here.
Soooo.....for the second year running I'm already failing

Last year I managed to sprout one in water then chopped it in 4 and potted it on. Then all grew on a bit then shrivelled and died!
This year I've sprouted 2 and they looked fantastic, then the leaves turned yellow and dropped off before getting large enough to be potted on.

So it looks like I've failed yet again! ( and the growing season has only just begun!!!!)

I'm not over-keen on sprouts and radish- but we always grow them successfully.

I suspect the celeriac plugs I bought today won't do very well so I'm intending to give them much more water than last year.

I'm having a go with aubergines again, I've never managed to get fruit off one and I don't actually like them that much (nobody else in the family will touch them), I just can't bear to be beaten! I'm trying raspberries for the first time this year, I've got 20 canes of various varieties, but the maggots freak me out so I doubt I'll actually eat any. I have however learned from previous years, and this year I'll be covering all my salad crops with mesh to try and keep out the invasion of aphids and flea beetles, might actually get to eat some salad this year (if it doesn't all bolt!).

Lettuce (All the year round). Didnt transplant well from modules and looks very sickly already, compared to direct sown and Lollo Rosso. Probably a disaster in the making.

Also my sad shallots are doing nothing and will probably get grubbed up if no greenery shows soon.

Radishes... have never liked them, but last year thought if I grew them they would taste so different that I would like them - I didn't and ended up giving them away. I have a new variety this year that came free with a mag so I'm going to try those this year... same friend will be on hand to take them again this year if they are still vile.

Aubergine & Okra... I would love to be able to grow these, but have never managed to get aubergine to fruit or okra to produce flowers. I'm trying again this year; at the moment I have 3 okra seedlings but have not got aubergine to germinate yet.
