Pepper Problem

I planted 3 pepper seeds per pot in my heated propogator they have all come up to about 2 inches i then decided to move them into individual pots,i moved the first 3 but they now look a bit sad and droopy,what could i have done wrong?

How long were they in the heated prop? If you've moved them from, say, 25C to a windowsill (I guess about 16C and much cooler at night) then they would sulk.

Are they sweet peppers, or chilli peppers?

Did you move them by holding the leaves not the stem? Did you damage the roots? Did you put them in strong sunlight? How long ago did you transplant them?

You'd have been better taking them out of the heated prop to somewhere light (but not cold) and let them grow a bit bigger...but even so if you where careful small seedlings will transplant ok.

I did hold the leaves yes and i was careful with the roots maybe i will let the other ones get bigger before i move them.

should chillies be kept quite dry then?

When did you do them? If today check in the morning, they always take a little while to 'recover' & if you put them somewhere too hot/light they transpire (lose water thru leaves) faster than small roots can replace it & so wilt. But yes chillies also prefer to be on the dry side, but tricky with small seedlings.

Moist at most when first re-potted. As they grow on they are best on the dry'ish side as opposed to drenched.
