I think they will be fine, Potatoes are not compatible with Pumpkin, Squash, Tomato, Cucumber & Sunflower. This may be worth saving for future reference.

Better if they were on the sunward side of your fruit bushes as they can cast a bit of shade! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Depends on how close you mean. Don't do it too close or you'll end up disturbing the roots of the fruit bushes when you dig the spuds up.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thanks for responses ... I found this info just before coming onto my thread
Pumpkin Squash, Cucumber, Sunflowers, Tomatoes and Raspberry are all antagonists of Potato ... it doesn't explain why, so will have to rethink where to plant potatoes as they seem to disagree with quite a few other veg etc

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH .....any idea why you can't plant spuds and squash together......I've got a lot of squash plants 'planned' to be sown into the spud bed as the first earlies come out but the 2nd earlies will still be in there............darn.......that really has put a spanner in my works... thanks for the heads up though BM or else I'd be in a real dilemna later in the year....back to the drawing board for me!Last edited by LolaLou; 15-04-2010, 10:48 AM.
