Heirloom Tomatoes

I'm having the following seeds sent from America (a bit too late for this year, but ready for next). Has anyone else grown these? any pitfalls other than usual tomato stuff to be wary of?

Im growing Pineapple for the first time this year, so cannot offer much advice at this stage, but germination was 100% so signs look good :-)

Good luck with them, for either this year or next.

Thanks Jilly, I'll be interested to see how yours turn out. I'll leave mine until next season to give them as long a growing season as possible, this year I'm only growing one heirloom, wapsipinicon peach, which are going great guns at the moment.

Sounds as if you like the big tomato's T8Ter?? I'm growing "China Half Moon" & "Monkeys ass" for the first time this year, so I'm on a bit of a learning curve as well. I haven't grown any off your list before so I can't say what there like.

Pineapple grew as a very good bicolour for me in Oz a few years ago. I love bicolours but I can rattle off dozens of other bicoloured varieties that I like equally as much or more. Grow it out and enjoy it!

I have some American heirlooms on the go. Cherokee Purple is one. I find that they are generally beefsteak type and need a long growing season. My heirlooms are the ones I sow in late January.

Yes GN, I thought I'd try some of the beefsteak toms to see how they go, I thought they'd need a long growing season Flum so that's why I thought I'd keep them until next season, Janek presumably you're a lot warmer there than us, so as you say, I'll grow them out and see what results I can get. I'd grown a few of the black varieties previously but since joining here and seeing the tomato parcel started by Enrich it's given me a bit more food for thought.
