i was surprised last week because i noticed tiny buds on my chili plant. its been on a window sill all over winter and i was sure it wouldnt grow anything because it was so small but to my amazement its kicked in to gear and is growing away nicely. im pleased because it didnt get chance to produce any fruits last summer.

My Scotch Bonnets sadly didn't make it through but a rather large cherry bomb and three jalapenos did survive and have flowers and one tiny jalapeno is forming already!! Hopefully it'll inspire all this year's in their modules to hurry up and grow!!!

My accidental bonzai chilli is now back in the greenhouse after spending the winter on top of the TV in the sitting room, its been repotted & the 1st flower has set fruit - hurrah!Comment

My scotch bonnet started life in the GH, got too big and I put it out in the lottie in mid summer last year. I dug it up and brought it in the GH then indoors when it started to freeze in the GH. It got a serious aphid hammering and did not like my dilute soapy solution to get rid of the aphids. It dropped all its leaves and its main brancehs started to brown so I cut it back to avoid the rot spreading. Seemed to work, I've got 6 small leaves. Fingers crossed more will follow.Comment

I kept a Chocolate hab going all through the winter in my bathroom. I did not cut it back as I had only 2 chilli's from it late on in the season. it has flowered on and off about 4-5 times since also the plant has almost doubled in size. However the silly thing has been sulking eversince by droping its flowers from the stalk end at different stages also droping green otherwise healthy looking leaves. I have no idea whats been going on with it. I have pampered it by feeding it , repotting it a couple of times have tried not to let it get too dry and deffinately not too wet! After taking about a month of giving it lengthening days out in the green house and back in doors at night the plant has been full time in my greenhouse for about a month now.
All this time it has still been droping leaves and flowers but still producing new growth of each. the plant is stil bushy and healthy looking but no chillies yet :-( I hope as the days get longer and warmer the flowers on there now will produce some chilli's.
I did see a couple of flowers on the plant that had died back instead of falling off, a first since last year, I can't see any baby chilli yet tho!
Still I have this years new babies going well as reinforcements tho! :-)
I think I'll try and keep Big Mumma as Iv'e knicknamed her, going again this year but I'll cut her back when I bring her in for winter!

My overwintered chillies are doing nothing - have waved bye-bye.
The seeds I saved from last year's chillies likewise haven't germinated.
Any chilli advice anyone?My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

That's weird -I picked a chilli off my Purple Gusto on the bathroom windowsill and gave it to a friend who has grown 6 seedlings from 6 seeds. Anyone fancy a try?Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?Comment

Chillies arrived safe and sound Thanks Jeanie. I'm assuming they'll germinate from fresh, without drying first?
Well just to make sure I'll dry half and plant the others in the GH. roughly 30 seeds in those two so hopefully I'll get a good few plants. Thanks again, much appreciated.
