  • What can I be sowing now (under glass)?

OK folks, what should I be sowing now (in one of those little plastic greenhouses)? We're having quite a bit of frost here in the Midlands. Am I best just leaving it until things warm up, or can I be getting a head start with some things? Thanks.

    Hi - Ilikepumkins.
I've been sowing beetroot, celeriac, early peas and broad beans today in modules and fyba pots. I've got them in my unheated greenhouse and they should all survive under cover.
    best wishes
    Sue

What to sow now in Greenhouse

        Hi there,

I've got seedlings of January sown:
Broad Beans, Calabrese, Cauliflower, Summer Cabbage, Red Cabbage, Sprouts, Shallots & Onions, Celeriac, Spinach and Rocket on the go in mine.
Then on nice sunny days, I take my tomatoes, aubergines, peppers & chillis out of the cottage and into the 'little girls greenhouse' to get some warm rays, bringing them back in late afternoon.

NTTP, I threatened my leeks with the bin late last week if they didn't germinate soon, and true to form (which is why I do) they started to germinate this weekend !

Which reminds me EB, to look out my short lengths of guttering, to start off my Mangetout in over the next two weeks. I was harvesting 3rd of June onwards last year (for the freezer)....

Wow, I'm impressed and a little jealous. Although I suspect most of ours wouldn't even make it home.

I've got lettuce, spring onions, shallots, carrots and rocket living outside. They're doing fine with a bit of fleece over them at night. Had a few frosty night but not below -3.

I've got some carrots under cloches and on the window sill I've got lettuce, cauliflowers and peppers. I also have shallots living outside and they look quite happy.
