Cat repellant seems to work!!

I have been plagued by neighbourhood cats. Have had to cover every bed and most pots to stop them digging and pooing in it but think I have found something that has kept them off!! I had a large bottle of cheap citronella oil in the shed and poured it into a spray bottle and then sprayed it all round the beds and on bare soil. It seems to have worked so just thought I would let others know if you're not already using it Hopefully as its is oil based, it won't wash away so quickly either.

they dont like lemon either and big cat poo will make them stay away so stick a few tiger/lion poos in your garden! (im not joking if you live near a zoo they will probably give you some)

my only problem with cats is mine trying to eat my seedlings lol

I will defo try this with the spray. I have found the only thing really effective for my garden is canes laid criss-crossed about. They don't like the feel of them under their feet.

I use the garlic repellent granules and decided to see if the cats really hated it... made the cat sniff it and she just looked at me like 'what, that's supposed to be nasty to me'? lol

Thanks for that selfraising I've been covering my soil areas with tent pegs and chopped up garlic so I'll have to give citronella oil a try.

Just ready bought citronella oil, really cheap stuff from Homebase etc. and poured into spray bottle, no mixing. The non edibles have had a spraying of it without any harm so far. Not sure about the edibles but I tend to spray around the edge of the raised beds and not over the crops. Thinking about it, I wonder if you could make your own with vegetable oil and lemon juice????

Use tea bags soaked in ralgex or something similar.

Get a cat...mine chases all the others out off the garden, he only poo's in a part of it I've laid to one side for him .

a large kid watergun by the window and door and some patience also seems to work...
and that keep my little one amused !
the cat used to come in the garden even when I was outside... now they are more hesitant ! and I have also noticed less poos around !

I'm trying Cat shoo (Coleus Canina) to see if that will keep them away (I have cats of my own and they join in with the neighbouring cats pooing in my front garden (it's only flowers but it's still annoying) and they chase everyone away from my rear garden that has all me veg and fruit in and they team up with a local Sparrow Hawk to keep the pigeons away from me peas).
