  • Truly pathetic purple sprouting

Am disgusted. Wish I had some pest to blame this failure on but I suspect the problems may lie squarely on my shoulders. My PSB sowed last october is still only 4 inches high. Why oh why is it four inches high?

Cos you should have sown it in Spring not Autumn....hey ho!... sow next years now and it maybe less vertically challenged.

I think I sowed mine early May last year and planted out mid July. Am now harvesting loads of the stuff although did expect it to be a bit earlier but am blaming the cold winter for that.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sowed it too late. PSB needs nearly a whole year to produce a worthwhile crop. Check seed packets for sowing dates.

It would be interesting to see if it grew on and produced a crop this summer though. Or maybe the 4" plant will produce 1" shoots soon?

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Thanks guys! I got them online, and while it's only my own fault for not checking, there weren't any instructions on the packet. Well I will let them be and just see what they choose to do. Wouldn't it be nice if I got something for my troubles anyway? Have just got seed for this year.
