Don't know whether this works but my Grandmother uses used tea bags around her garden to deter cats

Might try it myself though as there are several cats near my plot
    What would Delia do?

I bought a plant from the local garden scentre which they promised would deter cats. I planted it in the veg patch and it grew into a monster - but it did absolutely nothing to deter the cats.
You only have to keep them off until late may/early june when there's enough foliage around to keep them off.

if you grew catnip in one area of your garden you would be garunteed the cats would be drawn to it and stay near it but it could possibly encourage more cats to visit lol, maybe plant some outside your garden!

A few bamboo barbie skewers poked in amongst your seedings (or in the seed bed before they come through) will deter them from fouling. (They can't squat down without getting poked up the jacksie). Holly branches - same thing, but I find skewers easier and less painful to remove later!

If the cat gets one, it deserves it!

I bought one of those as well, my cat used to sleep on top of it, so much for it's (expensive) cat repelling qualities.
They also die in the winter.

I use the garden canes over the beds and chicken wire. But mine still finds a way through.

I'm going to try half filled transparent bottles, it seems to work for someone close to me.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

I've already got my water bags hung in conservatory for the flys, next is the water bottles for the cats. Let the battle commence!

I've heard of hanging water bags for flies before but never understood what they actually did! Can anyone shed any light?

We also have 3 cats who like to poop in my veg bed! The only way Ive found (and it also stops the fox pooping there too) is to net the beds. Have used tall hoops of water pipe and netted over the top. Has the advantage of keeping off the cabbage whites if I use the enviromesh over the brassicas! Only problem is it doesnt look very pretty, but can't have everything! As others have said, once there is a lot of foliage, its not really a problem anyway!

Although they can be expensive the electronic devices can be effective if there are no obstructions.

btw if you have a zoo near by try and aquire some poo from a big cat like a lion/tiger etc domestic cats will smell it and realise it belongs to a much bigger cat and stay away.

you can probably find websites that sell it and i know you can get it in spray form but thats probably expensive
