I bought mine from seeds of italy,paid 2.99 got about 50 seeds ,even if I wanted to complain I see that their uk address is only about 800 yds from my house

I used to grow mini f1s in the green house but over the past few years they seem to get some form of white mildew on the leaves, this also seem to get passed on to other plants.

So this year no cumbers in green house. I will try Marketmore under a frame.

Last year my Marketmore were starting out great but got machine gunned by a freak hail shower, leaves shot to pieces.
They produced a few cumbers and then kicked the bucket.

I think f1 cukes are worth it, because I'd be guaruteed to miss a male flower and end up with inedible fruits.

I have grow marketmore quite often and never picked the male flowers off. Can't say I have ever had an inedible cumber.

With Marketmore and the like, you don't remove any flowers. Just let nature take its course - loads of lovely cukes last year, gave plenty away too.

Yes and they are just the right size to use in one go.
No soggy half cucumbers discovered in bottom of fridge.
On this topic, don't you find your own last for ages when stored in fridge, whilst shop one seem to quickly go soggy.

I contacted Kings today pointing that the first packet I bought didn't germinate etc etc. It would be nice to get a reply but at least I have got it off my chest so to speak.

I grow marketmore each year and have no complaints. Leaveall the flowers on. Pick when quite small as the skins can go a little tough for some people. Still peeling is always an option.
