Corgette Help.

I planted quite a few corgette's, squashes and pumpkins in the lottie yesterday, I have been to have a look today and they are all wilted?

Will these pick up again, I have gave them a nice water today.

Were they outside last night? There was ground frost in some parts of the country and all those are tender plants that need quite warm weather.

do you know how cold it was last night in your area?

I think it might still be a little early for these in the open. Mine are still inside or under cloches. The packet said to plant out next month.

Thanks for the replys, they seemed big enough and were taking up valuble space in the green house, the temp dropped to 1oc last night, I hope they will be ok.

One or 2 of them are ok.

Can you put some fleece over them at nights? Or a chopped up bit of plastic drinks bottle if they fit?

I think I may have to, I didnt think we would be seeing another frost, I dont think it frosted last night but it did go cold, hopefully they will be ok.

I think i'm best to seed some more just incase, also I planted my runners, french beans, cabbage and sweetcorn out yesterday.]

They mostly look fine, apart from the odd small cabbage and runner that might have bit the bullet. Should these be ok?

Someone on our old allotment site used to plant them through a cardboard box so the sides gave some protection. However, I still think it's too early for courgettes or climbing or bush beans. Watering won't be the problem. They will have wilted from the cold - I'm the same meself!

Yorkshire is a bit to far north for tender plants yet. I have courgettes out on the lottie but they are protected from cold winds and this far south we shouln't get a frost now. Hope they survive.

You have to harden off (sorry to shout) Put the plants outside daytimes, inside at night for 7-10 days or so before you plant them permanently outside

I put two of my courgettes out a couple of weeks ago hardening them off early (keeping the others indoors for now lol) to test how they go. They are not looking to bad to be honest! They definately need a bit of protecting and i would seed a few more just incase!
