I think there is a lot of snobbery with truffles i have tasted black truffle and the cheapest way to replicate the taste in my opinion is to buy a bag of compost,get a coffee spoon,take out one spoonfull get a hazel nut and put it all in your mouth and chew...i wasnt keen.
