  • OK, who got hit last night?

My courgettes and BNS have been growing away merrily from direct sowing on the plot, and I planted out my climbing French beans on Sunday..oh dear!
Last night we had the coldest May night since ...whenever... -4 on the lottie last night!

My beans are looking very limp today, as are the BNS and courgettes........will they recover or should I take them out and start again?

It's going to be cold here again tonight. If they've been frosted I doubt they'd recover but you never know. Maybe give them a day and then sow some more. Last year we were lucky with the late frosts ie we didn't get one, this year it seems as if summer will never arrive

My french beans (newly transplanted from ghouse) survived last night bless em so I provided some fleece for them and will keep my fingers crossed. Maybe I will end up with frozen beans - cannot be bad.

OK, who got hit last night?

          By the frost?

We had -3 in the greenhouse, must have been a bit colder outside.
Still freezing this morning at 7am, so the cats food went outside and the tomatoes stayed in my porch with the door closed!
Not sure of any causalities yet.

No frost here, I think the power station is acting like a giant hot water bottle !

There's got to be at least one positive to living close to that monstrosity!

Frost here, but sun is out so it will be gone soon. -1 at 6.30, but most of the toms are still tucked up in the blowaways. The four that I potted on and put out last weekend have survived unharmed so far, though I confess I haven't looked at them yet today.

2.7 according to my lovely window-mounted thermometer. Haven't been up to the greenhouse yet. It's now 7.4.

Slight frost here, it's nice sunny so it'll not be around for long...I hope.

My potatoes have lost most of their youngest leaves to it, the tomatoes are looking unhappy and 5 of the runner beans have had it, but fortunately I've kept the spare ones of those in the mini GH.

Would a tomato feed on the toms and tatties help them to perk up again?
