My daughter wanted to grow pumpkins again this year but I can't spare the ground for the giant variety so have been looking for an alternative. I bought some seeds at the weeked called baby bear squash from the eden range of seeds that suttons sell. They say are ideal for the smaller garden and also good for growing on trellis but go on to say the hight is 12"
This seems awfully short for a squash and pointless to grow up a support that is only a foot high. Just wondered if anyone else has grown these before and if so what did the plants look like?
I was thinking of growing them with the sweetcorn as ground cover. If I did do I have to increse the spacing of the corn?
