spent a few hours today digging up the garden and got 1 of my plants in the ground

supposed to be 2 degrees tonight hope thats not too cold for it

got all this to clear before i can put the rest of them in

Yes.

I put my tester out last weekend, I popped a two layer white net over it to try and protect it....I'll find out tomorrow whether it worked or not.

I put 2 pumpkins out today. Fingers crossed they'll be ok. It is forecast to be warmer than it has been at night in the greenhouse over the last few weeks and they've been fine in there.

Son-in-law put his out last week. He bought some more yesterday! Nagging Ma-in-law told him not to put them out till June and meantime to take them out in the day and back at night.

well it survived and also the tomato survived which i was pretty surprised about considering it was in the garden completely uncovered

I'm not putting mine outside yet, but have put a couple of cucumbers in the GH, still cover them at night, just to be on the safeside. Still covering my spuds in buckets at night too. Better safe than sorry.

I've put my less loved sweet dumplings out under cover of large water containers cut in half. The rouge vif d' echamps and the uchi kuri (too tired to spell or name correctly, please pardon) and my dills atlantic giant aren't going out until the weather makes up it's mind for good.

Oh yes! I've been trying for a month! I was experimenting trying to get one out as early as possible. Two have died off so far, 3rd time lucky! My third attempt has been in for three days and it was at the 3 leaf stage when I planted it. Hopefully no more frosts!


I won't be planting the rest of my squashes until next month.

Manure and soil sounds good to me.

The more organic matter (manure or compost, or bith) you have, the bigger the plant will be and the more fruit it will be able to support (or the bigger the fruit if you're trying for that).
