tuesday nights frost took out my corn and courgettes in the blowaway, destroyed my tomatos and peppers under water cooler bottles blackened half my spuds under two layers of 30b fleece and dropped all my cucumbers in the snakeshack in my back garden
My two pumpkins were under a cold frame and a very old plastic cloche planted out and look bigger and better than ever before....go figure!

The best sucess I've had thus far is a corgette under a big ol' milking glass, like the ones from a dairy. I direct sowed under this and popped a parsnip in the small opening at the top. A few weeks later and it hasn't looked back!

sorry, meant to post a link! http://www.ans.iastate.edu/species/d...glass_milk.jpg They're bell-shaped glass jars, perfect little greenhouses for plants! I found one in one of the dairy barns on the farm and lugged it back. Don't know if they're available commercially, but I'd recommend them!

They do, that's why you don't tell anyone.
I've been trying for ages to get some out of our office, but no luck.

lol, imagining one attempting to smuggle one stuffed under shirt, to be pointed back to the office by exasperated door guard. hehe!
