Some frieds of mine put in raised beds at their allotment, and used the fake grass for their paths, put down on top of weed supressant. Although the idea took a bit of getting used to, it did work well for keeping down the mud through all the recent rain. Mind you I don't think cost was an issue as they had a truck full of topsoil delivered to fill the beds as well as new shed, paved patio etc.

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

we were lucky to get given some second hand stuff for lottie use,is very heavy indeed,as tis full of sand, slabs are our main path,we use it for side paths and a patio area, great for walking on,blends in with the suroundings lovely, and can be moved if you wish, with a bit of help and muscle, would not want it as my home lawn as is to big an area, plus i like the use of mowings, but if we had a small garden i would,as no need to house a mower lol, sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

The roundabout into our village has artificial grass on (as an advert for the artificial grass company) which now looks like real grass as after 2 years the weeds have successfully grown through it. Areas of walking may have less weeds but I don't think it's very permenant.Proud member of the Nutters Club.

Still think its orrible stuf...........
You may as wel stick a few plastic flowers and veg in when you're on if you've got a plastic fetish....
Come to think of it, you can get plastic link-a-board, plastic grass between beds, plastic flowers around the edges with plastic veggies in the beds (all planted in plastic soil of course) and you may as well finish it off with a plastic greenhouse. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Hey, I like my little plastic blowaway greenhouse!!
Reminds me of someones front garden near me. They have patioed over the whole thing and put concrete planters everywhere....then for some bizarre reason stuck plastic greenery in the tubs and concreted them in!!
Unfortunately the sun has affected the plastic shrubs and they have all gone bright turquoise!!:O (its like a martians garden!LOL).
