  • 'All Purpose' Liquid Miracle Gro plant food on veggies?

Is it safe to use all purpose liquid miracle gro on vegetables? It doesn't say on the packet not to, but it also doesn't say that it's ok to do so either, just talks about foliage and has pictures of flowers! Alternatively, would tomato feed be ok to use on other veggies in the garden? (I know it's ok to use on cucumbers, peppers etc, but what about other stuff like brassicas etc)

ETA ok just found out it's only ok for fruiting crops so not brassicas etc, so back to the original question about the all purpose stuff - ok for non fruiting veg?

Yes, it's as safe as other non-organic plant foods. Use it on your fruiting plants like you would Tomorite. It's also very high in nitrogen so it'll be good for your leafy crops. It's not so good for root veg.

Use tomato feed on all fruiting plants. You're best off getting a nitrogen rich fertiliser for your leafy brassicas.

Cany anyone recommend a good nitrogen rich feed for brassicas please. I did put down chicken pellets a while back but think they could possibly do with something else now. Thanks.

I have a barrel that i put some pellets in,filled with water and let dissolve i then use this from the watering can directly onto the soil the result is seen in days.

drown some nettles in water and use that. It reeks, it looks disgusting, and you'll probably end up with maggoty things in there, but it does the trick, and it's free
