  • Mangetout question

My first pyramid of 10 mangetout plants is looking gorgeous and lush and the plants seem to love where they are. My question is where do the flowers form?

The reason I ask (what probably seems like a really silly question ) is that there appears to be something growing from the base of some of the larger leaves, in what I would call the fold of the leaf but which probably has some official technical terminology , and I'm wondering if these are the beginings of the flowers?

    Many thanks,

They grow just like sweet peas. You should be seeing flowers any day now

You get a shoot from the leaf axil which will contain the flower buds. If they are shooting from there you're not far off!

They are! They are! OOOOh can't wait now, so close. 'Axil' now see I knew there would be a proper term for "the base of some of the larger leaves, in what I would call the fold of the leaf" .

        Thanks
