  • Bird poo.

The birds seem to like using my veg as target practice? On leafy veg, is this still ok to eat, if washed properly?

Also - do you eat the leafy veg that slugs have nibbed on too, or am I just being a prude?

I eat them. Just wash off the bird poo. When you think about it, you're probably growing them in horse, cow or chicken poo anyway. What's a little more to the mix?

If it's good enough for the slug's...it's good enough for me, I pull the slug munched bit's off. Make sure ya wash it well, I leave mine in slightly salted water after washing...just in case. But any dicky di doos will be killed of when it's cooked

Depends on how it looks when it is washed!

Anything that looks really manky doesn't get eaten, unless the MIL is visiting, then she might well be eating it

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Or the chickens will scoff it - they aren't fussy!
