        the weather? Is your allotment on an exposed site?I know everyhting vaguely cabbage related in the polytunnel has gone nuts.There are usable pak choi in there that were only sown a couple of weeks ago....

          There are quite a few things that will affect the size of leafy plants like cabbages. Too much nitrogen or conversely not enough nitrogen will have an effect.

          Shade.........
          Soil temperature...........
          Micro climate...........
          Soil type..........
          Acidity/Alkalinity.......
          Moisture levels.........
