Composting tomato leaves?

Hi, I've been pinching out the side shoots on my tomatoes this morning and just wanted to double check they're ok to put in my compost heap?

For some reason I think there might be something wrong with putting them in the heap. But might be confusing it with tomato leaves that have blight, which obviously shouldn't be put in the heap.

If mine look healthy I compost them- but have you thought of planting on those sideshoots- if they are large ones?
I've never tried it before- but I'm certainly going to give it a go this year!!!

I grow my own plants from seed so it's no big a gain.
But when I used to get the from the garden centre they were very expensive.
So I used to buy three and the populate another three cuttings into a growbag.
They pick up very quickly.

I put tomato foliage on the compost. I wouldn't if it were blighted but assuming it's healthy, bang it in.

Thanks for all your help everyone. I'm in the same boat as Jim. Grew mine from seed and got plenty of plants at the moment. Did try planting the sideshoots last year though.
