1 cucumber stunted, the other only male flowers..help!

I sowed cucumber cucino about 6 weeks ago but it seems to be stunted. It only has one set of true leaves but keeps trying to produce cucumbers. I have been taking them off trying to encourage it to grow but it doesn't grow any taller just starts growing another cuc, should I give up on it and if so is there still time to sow another one for outdoors?

The second cucumber is a white one, sorry can't remember the name. It is producing lots of flowers but I can't see any fruit behind them. I have been taking the flowers off but as with the above one, it just produces more. Should I leave the flowers on a little longer to see if something develops behind them? Is there such a thing as an all male cucumber??

I tend to leave only one or two cue's on the stem. The rest are grown on shoots, about four or five on each plant splayed out like a fan to give space.(a little diagram is on my blog)

I think some plants will have more male flowers on the stem. I do not de-flower and let nature take its course. I do get about 25 to 35 cue's from each plant.

If I were you, I would try to buy a couple of good plants from a garden centre as a back up, you will get a good return on your investment.

Ok, last year I didn't have a blog, so did not take many pictures. So the first picture is of my plants before I really started cropping, the second picture I googled so you can see how many you can get in one picking, which will obviously carry on through the season.

My cucumbers started off all males flowers then start producing some females. I guess they like to get the bees interested before they put effort in to fruiting. I wouldn't pick the males off though, just wait a bit.

With the other, you said it's trying to produce cucumbers, has it actually flowered or just got buds? The make the buds quite early but develop more before they flower. Again, I would leave it to it.

Are they in nice big pots? I find mine sometimes panic and flower quicker if I'm slow to pot up.
