I'm growing "bijou" which pretty much fits your description. Funny thing is as a seedling growing indoors its green with a slight ting but soon after it goes outside it goes dark dark red with an almost waxy appearance. Looks great in a mixed salad.

I would have said the question is "WHY would you blog about something that you don't have and don't use?"?! I'm interested in preserving with a pressure canner, would you write about that on your blog? No, I'd write about it on mine...

          As for Red Lettuces...

I'm growing Red Iceberg from Real Seed Co., and also a couple of red ones that came out of T&M's 'Colour Shades Mixed'. One of them is gorgeous, red tinged, ruffled leaves that you can eat as loose leaves or leave to heart into a semi crisp head. Wish I knew what it was on it's own, cos I'm not that bothered about the others....
