  • Dancing in the rain

Yippee some proper rain at last.
I think I could hear all my veggies going slurp slurp slurp this morning.

I made a special effort yesterday evening to get my flower borders planted up and the rain will save my lots of effort.

Anyone else suffering from lack of rain or is it just a Lancashire problem.

    Chuffed

It's been dry for many weeks here. The recent rain is such a relief!

Mother nature can chuck down in two minutes what I can never hope to equal with cans or even a hose pipe.
        Wonderful when she remembers.
Hope she doesn't start on the hail again because it shredded lots last year about this time.

            Not in Aberdeen!

I was down in Stratford last week and the weather was lovely. Mind you, all but about 6 of my sunflowers died. I left my son to water them and he did - just not enough. I blame myself...

First proper rain we've had in a bit and very welcome too, the ground at the plot was rock hard when I was trying to dig last week. Will also fill up the water butts which were looking rather empty after extensive watering of the polytunnel after I'd let it get a bit dried out before I tamed half of it. Am loving it and am even more pleased that it looks like it'll be dry again by Friday when I'm off work

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Everything looks so fresh. Even the lawn has taken on a wimbledon appearance.

Do you prefer Mother Nature and all her whims ?
Or would you prefer some nice scientific climate control which might be possible in the distant future ?
Perhaps Father Nature would be better, much more logical !!!!

It's doing the chick-weed a power of good. It's shot up in a couple of days!

Chick weed. Is that the one that produces small white flowers the very instant it pops its head up. And very shortly after a little tree like structure of tiny little pea pod like seed pods.
As soon as you weed it the pod burst and hey presto, 10s time more weeds.

That's bittercress, Jimmy. Chick weed is more sprawling with tiny white flowers.
Oops - severe weather warning for Wales and the midlands today - lots of rain!
