Early this week the Wife said "we have bag of spuds that's gone off".
Which translates into "she forgot about them", there were about 20.
I wondered if they would be any good if I planted them now , any ideas?
Anyway I felt them and they were a bot soft. So not wanting to waste them ( being a scrooge ) I peeled them, sliced them thin and cooked them.
They were too fare gone for boiled spuds but they mashed up a treat in a big mixing bowl.
I added some fried onions/garlic , dried herbs, salt, pepper and a cup or two of porridge oats.
A dab of butter and a drop of milk to bind.
Then with my hand held burger press made 14 spud burgers.
Froze 12 and had two fried with a fried egg on top of each one.
Yummy.
Should I have planted them ?
