Well my OH has just announced that he will drive anywhere for potatoes [he is irish after all] and so we're hoping to drive up in the morning. Is there a website with more information anywhere? We have to be in Edinburgh at 4pm so probably won't stay too long.
How are 'grapes' going to identify each other?

Ooh, wish I could go too! It's a bit far even for quality tatties though. Could drive down in five hours, or spend 6 1/2 on a train . SW, what tatties are you growing this year? I'm trying to decide but I don't really know what grows best up here, relative newbie you see!

I'm maybe more of a wee pub across the road person. But Dunblane has personal memories for me. I'm sure everyone remembers the children who were shot in their primary school there . The six year old daughter of a person known to me was in their number. And if you remember the memorial service at Dunblane Cathedral for Jessica and Holly, the very beautiful pipe music played for the occasion was written by my step father. I remember him writing the music for another very sad occasion. I'll be paying my respects in the cathedral, buying my tatties, and hopefully getting on with the joy of the day. That's the way life has to be.

Hello Eskymo, no there's no website, but I think Berr provided quite a lot of information on what was going on. It would be great if you could make it, and not really too far for you. Nothing decided about how to recognise each other , I'm sure it's all up for suggestion - something daft I hope. Nothing like an icebreaker ! So what's your suggestion ?

Dunblane and Tragedy.
Indeed so, Alice. Sadly, it is not possible to disassociate the name of the community from memory of unspeakable tragedy, or to visit the town without thinking of the innocents who perished. Yes, we will have our thoughts; that is inevitable, and it I think it's fitting.

Wish I could join you all, but a bit far for me too. (Overnight ferry then probably four hours on the train!)
Bit DO take a photograph someone PLEASE! It sounds as though it will be a memorable occasion.~

Identification.
Would it not be better to have our individual identities? I'd propose, for example, to wear my gardening hat- the one I mugged the scarecrow for. You'd know it when you saw it, believe me.
But whatever you guys think...
Berr.
Afterthought: S.R. shouldn't pose a problem.....unless you've got a heavy cold, that is.

I am growing Lady Christl - an early variety, suitable for baby new potatoes, Charlotte - a waxy salad that everyone knows and loves, and Edzell Blue - which seems from my market research to be very popular up here. Not growing any of the more common maincrops as my five acres is surrounded by about 1200 acres of maincrop and charlotte ina 5 mile radius.Rat
