So are you against feeding plants or is it just coca cola that you hold a grudge?.............as for supermarket suppliers, I thought they did have additives to enhance flavours & colours.

I have no objections to feeding plants, but not with Coke.
FWIW I wouldn't feed it to my kids either. Tooth decay and weight gain seem to be among the undesirable side effects of soft drinks!
Sugar applied to the tomato roots seem most unlikely to produce a great flavour difference in the tomato, and the environmental impact of producing and transporting the Coke, even in concentrate form is really rather alarming. It is by definition a luxury product: We can survive without it, and we will have to live without it once the fossil fuel that allows its production is burned up. It just might occur to the humans around at that point, struggling with resource depletion and anthropogenic global warming, that burning the planet's endowment of oil to produce soft drinks to pour on tomato plants was a spectacularly dumb idea.

.
I stopped Step-daughter from drinking cola because it made her Hyper......I wouldn't say no to a few hyperactive toms though....

I think it's lack of brushing and exercise that cause those problems.
It might be interesting to do an experiment to see how the effects of cola on the plants compare to those watered with just water. I might have a go at that myself.
Why, what are you gonna feed with it?...............

From my limited knowledge, fruit prefer acidic conditions, Tomatoes are fruit (I think), therefore a glass of coke would be appreciated.

All commercial products are the same though, coke is no different , nearly all products start off in a giant chemical factory, polution is a fact, removing it would be nice but its not likely to happen untill something major happens that prevents manufacture
Any info that gives people the ability to use coke as a fertaliser for a reason is important, being able to give greater yields of food for a given area by feeding a `similar blend to coke` may well save the human race by giving the ability to produce enough food in a smaller area
Its always been `the thing` that people believe that `nice natural friendly looking products...` such as coffee or tea are all nice and enviromentaly friendly...., once turned into a drink the `spare bits` can be fed to plants ( making it more enviromentaly sound due to less waste for the polution required to transport it and turn it into coffee ) ,
People need to see that there are other waste products not normaly thought about that can be used!, often a bottle of coke will go flat before its finished, well now it can be used for something insted of poured down the drain
I myself drink at least a 2 litre bottle of coke a day ( and yes it does rot teeth!) , often the last bit goes flat , hence the reason that its good to be able to make it do something usefull by increasing food yield from a plant instead of throwing it away ( after its production and transport like all products has made some polution )
you wont stop people drinking it! , just enable them to use the waste for something usefull , the bottles can be recycled industrialy as a plastic, or as a mini greenhouse , or as they do in areas such as eastern europe with bad water supplys, they fill the garden shed with them full of water for when the water goes off for 2 weeks at a time, so even the bottles have a use
I wouldnt buy coke to feed a plant, i would buy the component parts and mix it up if i wanted it, i do water plants with hydrogen peroxide solution, and spray some plants occasionaly with kinetin , cytokinin and gibberelic acid at the right points of there growth to make the plant do what i want when i want!, but coke as a waste product i cant see a problem
Welsh Wizard, you need to lighten up... I thought this forum was very helpful and informative without being 'bitchy' to fellow members, this is one of the very reasons I joined this site. I can name other forums I am a member of that are 'snobs' to other members because of what they do.
And as seeing as you are doing text speak, he was just asking a simple question FFS!
I guess if you are going to be disposing of waste cola anyway then go right ahead.
As for being harsh, well just saying it like it is. Unpleasant truth is the oil is running low and society will be running on dregs by the end of my life. If we use coal as a substitute we wreck the climate. We need to try not to do unnecessary things like wasteing coke to conserve fossil fuel resources.
I do however know, that value cola is good for cleaning toilets
Really?............and the value stuff would be cheaper.........
