        Well to be fair, having germination and having beans in your hand are something different

        However, I wouldn't have thought it too late at all.

                      I found the two chaps - cousins I think.. Mr slug and Mr snail that had been grazing mine off.. even of double stacked bottle clothes. I returned the favour. Going out later to see if any more of them are at it too. grr

                        I'm sowing my last lot next week (Canadian Wonder, a dwarf red kidney bean). They take *about* 3 months from seed to plate

                            I'm hoping it's not too late, runners are about 3" tall. It was too cold to plant themm much earlier. I;ve got dwarf beans in a raised bed and just stick a few bean seeds in every few weeks to fill in gaps.

                            Might as well, seed is relatively cheap and opnce you;ve opened a packet .....
