Has anyone tried growing tumbleweeds at their plot before

I was thinking of ordering some seeds and growing one for a bit of fun.

I guess if they started rolling around the allotment other people might get annoyed though

OH GOD NO! Trust me, you don't want tumble weeds. Nettles are wonderful compaired to tumbleweeds. They're not cute, they're highly mobile and they have horrible spines. Think of a cross between goosegrass and razorwire. They roll around and get stuck to the fences back home. Being innocent and carefree (bored) at a rest stop in california, I walked over to kick one. BIG HORRIBLE MISTAKE. The 30 or so spines stuck in my foot all came apart from the stem and the whole thing collapsed, scattering seeds and more spines everywhere.
