  • 6ft parsnip!!!

well i have a parsnip from last year which has reached about 6ft (above ground) and has flowered....i've left it in to save the seeds....the pods have formed on some flower heads and not on others......

thing is i need the space (i also want to see how big the 'snip is!!) for other crops....

When do i cut back and leave to dry in the shed? Do the seed pods need to be swollen to a certain size?

If iu cut it down will i still be able to harvest seeds?

    Ta

Pods? You should have big flower heads not pods.....

Should look similar to these carrots...which are just about to unfurl in this pic.

They wouldn't be ripe enough now; they need to be brown and drying....
