  • Advice sought: courgette plant, yellow spots (with picture!).

    Hullo,

This is my first time growing anything, and i just had a query regarding these yellow spots on one of the leaves. It is the only leaf affected. I was not at all concerned until i read an article on the BBC website (BBC - Gardening - Advice: Pest and disease identifier) which suggests that spotty mildew can begin as bright yellow spots...

Yup - it can be. I'd advise against spraying them; just give them a good water and try to keep water off the leaves.

Water in a saucer/tray and they will suck up what they need.

Thanks Zazen - I currently have half a dozen plants growing in individual buckets nestled together: should i isolate the one with yellow spots?

If you can, can you separate them a bit as they need the space?

It won't harm them to remove the one leaf now.
