    hi i accuired 2 tomato plants from the doctors surgery where i work (a patient braught a load in ) well the question is the leaves are purple under neath does any one have an idea as to what kind of tomato plant they are please many thanx charmaine

    I wouldn't know, but the person who does is gonna ask for a photo so I may as well do it for them and save time.... Lalalala!

      Even with a photo it's going to practically impossible to tell.

      I'd put 50p on Gardener's Delight though.

              Could it be that they've just gotten a bit cold? Zazzen's right about the odds being moneymaker, but it's just that when ever I left my tray of all 12 varities out in the chill, they all got a purplish tinge under their leaves. Granted, maybe it'd been there all along, but just thought I'd say...

                A purple tint may be a sign of a nutrient deficiency. Give them some Tomorite if you haven't already.
