We've got a large overgrown bed that we're going to strim down then cover with a huge tarpaulin. I wouldn't mind popping some pumpkins through holes in this, but is it too late to raise them from seed, initially in pots in the greenhouse? Would any varieties stand a better chance than others?

Too late for pumpkins from seed?

It's one of those 'length of piece of string' questions. What it will depend on is the length of summer we get, how warm it is in autumn etc. It's worth a go. You'll only have wasted a few seeds if it doesn't work, and you'll be swimming in pumpkins if it does! Good luck!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Give it a go. It might not work, but it's probably worth a try!
