They are all shoots Mally, the ones that come from the very bottom are called suckers.

Well Mally, I have had my colouring pens out! The shoots are marked in red, and the main stems in green.
The suckers have to be cut right at the bottom and the shoots where they grow out of between the stem and the leaf

Although do check what sort of tomato you have before doing this as if it's a bush type you don't do this at all

Thanks everyone especially TK for the pic, it was a great help. I have been out with the knife and amputated them. Shame I dont take my own adive because my greenhouse looks like ajungle and I've squashed far too many plants in there
