My tomatoes look sickly..

sorry no picture but, leaves turning white/brown and papery from the tip downwards..teh plants just look ..sick..

any ideas? I;ve not had this before?

OK, where are they growing, what size pots, etc, etc. We can't help if we don't know the details.

sorry, just in the ground.

they were plants , 2 lots ( not same type affected) planted approx 3 weeks and 1 week go.

have grown them straight into ground for last 7 years so don;t reckon that's teh problem

the only ones I've had that turned papery from the top down were ones in the polytunnel that ran out ofwater and were scorched by the sun and heat.
combination of lackof water and feed?

White and papery sound a bit like sun scorch- have you been watering them whilst it's been hot and sunny???

Could be the wind - we've had a cold northerly for the past week or more. Or has someone in the neighbourhood been spraying? Any other plants affected?

No other plants affected, only some of the tomatoes..

They are looking a bit happier since a mammoth watering yesterday, I;ve pulled the affected branches off.

Mine went all white and papery - from the wind.. I always water fromthe bottom. Gutted!

it is very windy here..and there is a lot of salt in the air.
