I am a terrible lurker but I know from experience that you guys are all into unusual edibles and very knowledgeable on the subject. I am working on a new book project which is all about people who grow unusual edibles. I would like to include profiles of several growers (some famous, some not) - including stuff like what type of unusual plants you grow, how you source them, hints and tips for people starting out.

If you would be interested in being included (and if you have a book/ website/ project that you'd like to promote then I can include links and details) then please have a look at my website for the questions and more details.

    Thank you!
    Emma

Monty Don mentioned in one of the magazines this weekend, that ground elder was good to eat! As I have it in abundance in my hedge bottom I tried a bit this morning. I do like the stems!

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

Japanese knotweed is supposed to make a good substitute for rhubarb, as well!

Nasturtium leaves are interesting in salads, they have an unusual and very peppery flavour.

I told a friend of mine that as we were wandering around a botanical garden, and she picked off a leaf and stuffed it in her mouth!

To me nasturtium tastes similar to cress.I'm not going to grow japanese knotweed(I think it's an offence to spread it anyway)even if it tastes like steak!

I think the idea is to eat it into submission if you already have it
