  • Tomato: armpit or main growing tip? (Picture)

Is the shoot in the middle an armpit, which can be plucked and potted, or is in the growing tip? The shoot to the right has a bunch of flowers forming from its stem, is this the main stem with the growing tip?

    Thanks!

growing tip is on the right of picture and sideshoot(armpit shoot) is the 1 in the centre of pic. Nip out and good luck with the growing, I gave my daughters school 8 or 9 tom plants grown just this way. Just water a pot(with no saucer) everyday with a good soak for the first week.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

I like the idea of giving schools tomato plants, but surely they aren't going to be there when they fruit? School holidays?

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

            Thanks all!

Was worried about plucking the wrong shoot and terminating growth!

Don't worry - if you'd removed the wrong bit the armpit would have taken over as the lead shoot.
