Thank you for posting the question Evie b and thank you Two Sheds for the answer as I was about to post the same question as two flowers appeared on my courgettes today!
I would also like to know about 'cross pollination' as i have three types of courgettes and they are all in individual pots but are all next to each other. I have '9 ball' Roman courgettes and i can't remember the other type but they are normal shaped courgettes.
Will this be a problem?
Cross pollination doesn't affect this generation. If you save seeds from your courgettes then the next year's plants won't necessarily give you the same results. But as far as your fruits this year - they'll all be edible!
Fantastic stuff!
I had pictures in my head of some very weird looking courgettes lol
I was suprised that they all germinated... have 7 plants so who knows what i am going to do with all of the courgettes!!!! Might look into picking them when they are small and pickling them?!
