  • Potimarrion squash, how many fruits?

I've worked really hard this year to get everything out at the right time.
One result is that I have a couple of huge squash plants, one especially, it has 5 pollinated fruit on it already.

How many squash has anyone seen a single plant produce successfully?
Or, how many should I stop it at?

I am quite minded to just let it get on with it and see just how many it could ripen. But there is always the chance of it all going wrong and not ripening any at all, if it has too many on it.
So a little bit of "come back down to earth" advice would be good

I should think they will all ripen to some degree but I think you might get more, smaller fruits. I usually restrict mine to 3 per plant (Potimarron) and get small football sized fruits that are very tasty.

Im trying potimarron for the seed circle. I have 1 in a pot that is going graet guns, producing lots of female fruit, about 8 at the moment. 3 are ready to hand pollinate, but there are not any male flowers ready, Im hoping they will appear?
I have 4 plants on the lotty too. i have hand pollinated 3 females, but agin there aren't very many males at all? Can I hand pollinate 2 females from the same male (clean answers only please?!) or should I use one male one female? Ive done a search but bcant pin it down?

Should i pinch the ends out too, and then limit females once I see if any fall off?

Put it here as I thought more people may see it?

That's a very good point and one I must admit, I hadn't thought of
