I have grown some chilli plants from seed that have started to flower, I also bought a chilli plant that was a bit further on than my own chilli plants and has already got fruit well forming. I have small green aphids?/bugs on all the plants especially around the flowers and buds and there are small white particles on the leaves. All the plants seem to be thriving. I've sprayed a mild soap solution on the plants a few times but has no effect. I think I inherited the pests on the chilli plant I purchased, all the chilli plants are kept in the greenhouse along with lots of other plants, tomatoes, herbs, cucumber etc, just the chillis are affected. Any advice would be appreciated.

It may also help to get your Chilli plants outside during the day when the weather is good to let the natural predators get at them, hoverflys, ladybirds etc.
But TS's suggestion of skwishing them can be very satisfying, check particularly the growing tips, the "crooks" of buds and the inside of flowers, this is where they tend to congregate.Last edited by HotStuff; 06-07-2010, 02:31 PM.There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

Mine got it too, but day trips out of the sunroom seems to control the little blighters and they all have fruit and are non the worse for a bit of wind through their leaves
Couldn't resist running outside to take their picture - they're looking so much better than last year and I'm going to show off
