Weird tomato flower

A few days ago I noticed what I thought was "a clump" of flowers on one of my Costoluto Fiorentinos.Actually,it's not a clump of flowers,it looks like...1 flower?joined flowers?I don't know.Anyway,the stem this weirdo is sitting on is very,very thick.Anybody had something similar?Is it worth keeping(I'm curious if I get a whopper tomato)?The flower underneath is a normal size.

It will produce fused fruit.
They are fairly common- but I've never seen one with so many flowers ...I'd leave it just to see what actually grows!

It looks like a case of fasciation - can happen as a result of insects or bacteria but is harmless to the plant and the rest should be normal. Some plants are more prone to it than others and I suspect Costoluto Fiorentino is one of those.

It's common in 'Heritage' or 'Beefsteak' tomatoes so I'd guess yours is one of these? Some people nip off the first bud if it's like this, to get more 'normal' fruits. You'll get a fused fruit with brown, scabby bits of skin where they stick together. You can just cut this out though. As you can tell, I tend to leave them on because I'm naturally curious.

Oh so that's what it is! My costoluto has a couple like that, also my Cherokee purple!

I had one on a Black Krim. I left it and it produced one fugly looking tomato. It also refused to do anything else for ages so I picked it off and let it ripen in the fruit bowl. It (the plant) still took ages to do anything else. Next time I think I'll nip the sucker out.

Real seeds have a tomato that looks like that I've never fancied it

Happens to my Cherokee Purple and Ananas Noire each time...looks quite 'alternative' compared to the usual tomato flower

You'll get more 'normal' ones - and sooner - if you remove it.
