    Hi there,

Totally new to gardening and this website, but wonder if any of you can help me....

I fear I may have destoryed my first ever beetroot crop! Having started off with a small veggie patch, I'd successfully sown what looked like a perfectly health crop of beetroot - and then recently discovered that I had to thin it out! Concerned that I'd left it too late - might I note that the leaves were pretty well grown - I seem to have made the foolish decision to thin things out anyway! And as a result, I've woken this morning to a a patch of beetroot with incredibly limp and seemingly lifeless leaves. Have I destoryed the crop or is there anyway of repairing my damage?

I'd suggest giving the lot a really good watering.

You'll have disturbed the roots. As Patchninja says, a deep drink (not just a sprinkling) should help. If you can shade them a bit too, that will help? Just erecting something for a day, I mean.
