Well, imagine my surprise

Sitting on the patio doing my daily inspection of the Chilli plants to keep the aphids at bay and imagine my surprise when I looked under a leaf of one of my Cheyennes, I presume he's a good guy?

(I included my finger to give a sense of scale, not to point where it was )

Is that a grasshopper?

I presume it's a grasshopper, I tried Googling for images of grasshoppers and crickets, couldn't find an exact match, but the closest I found was a grasshopper. One site said they're not good, 'cos they munch leaves. He didn't seem to be munching leaves when I saw him and he's long gone now.

Gave me a bit of a start when I first found him, just the shock of the unexpected, you know, like when somebody jumps out of a cupboard and you're not expecting it.

OMG, Hotstuff - that sounds like you are speaking from experience! I'm sure the grashopper was more shocked than you! I seem to recall my old cat scoffing the odd grasshopper when she caught them.
