After giving me endless neuroses - and forum members much irritation - my courgettes are finally fruiting, however, there's a new twist: my courgettes are having an identity crisis. Do female courgettes look like this?
And two of my courgette plants have male and female flowers different to the three other courgette plants which are like the above:
The first courgette in this post has very thick spikes on its stems, while the second one is more furry rather than spiky. If you refer to this earlier post the larger plant developed into the first picture here, and the runt one corresponds to the second set of pictures here.
I'm confused they should look so different to each other, as they were from the same seed packet (although i did purchase the seeds from a market rather than proper seed company)...
